Role Description The Director of Foreign Exchange Technology is a full-time remote leadership role responsible for designing, implementing, and overseeing technology solutions that support the firm’s foreign exchange (FX) trading, risk management, and operations. This role will lead the development and integration of FX platforms, ensuring robust connectivity with market data providers, trading venues, and internal risk and portfolio systems. The director will manage cross-functional technology initiatives, collaborate with investment and operations teams to align FX technology with business objectives, and establish standards for system performance, resiliency, and security. Day-to-day responsibilities include overseeing project delivery, optimizing workflows and automation, setting technology roadmaps for FX capabilities, and mentoring a distributed technology team. The role also involves monitoring regulatory and market changes in FX, driving continuous improvement, and ensuring that technology solutions scale with the firm’s growth and global ambitions.
Qualifications
Strong foundation in Information Technology, with experience architecting and maintaining trading or FX-related systems.
Proven Program Management capabilities for leading complex, multi-stakeholder technology initiatives in financial services.
Demonstrated IT Strategy skills, including defining technology roadmaps, platform selection, and modernization in alignment with business goals.
Team Leadership and Project Management experience, including mentoring technical teams, managing timelines, budgets, and delivery quality.
Hands-on experience with FX trading platforms, order management systems, market data integration, and API-based connectivity is highly beneficial.
Familiarity with risk management, portfolio management workflows, and regulatory considerations related to FX and capital markets.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate across investment, operations, compliance, and technology teams.
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Experience in asset management, hedge funds, banks, or trading firms
