Chief Financial Officer

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead the company's financial operations, develop long-term financial strategies, and support sustainable business growth. The CFO will oversee financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, reporting, cash flow management, risk assessment, and regulatory compliance while providing financial guidance to executive leadership.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in financial management, strong analytical and leadership abilities, and a proven track record of improving financial performance, managing risk, and supporting strategic business decisions.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Strategy and Executive Leadership
Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with the company's long-term objectives.
Serve as a strategic financial advisor to the CEO, executive team, and board of directors.
Evaluate business performance and provide recommendations to improve profitability and operational efficiency.
Lead financial planning for business expansion, investments, acquisitions, and other strategic initiatives.
Assess financial opportunities and risks to support informed decision-making.
Establish financial goals, performance indicators, and long-term financial plans.
Financial Planning, Budgeting, and Forecasting
Oversee annual budgeting, financial forecasting, and long-range financial planning.
Monitor revenue, expenses, cash flow, assets, liabilities, and overall financial performance.
Analyze financial results against budgets and forecasts, identifying variances and recommending corrective actions.
Develop financial models and scenario analyses to support business planning.
Identify opportunities for cost optimization, improved margins, and increased profitability.
Ensure responsible allocation of financial resources across the organization.
Accounting and Financial Reporting
Oversee accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and reconciliations.
Ensure the accuracy and timely preparation of financial statements and management reports.
Establish and maintain effective internal financial controls and accounting procedures.
Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing processes.
Ensure financial reporting follows applicable accounting standards and company policies.
Present financial results and key performance indicators to executive leadership and other stakeholders.
Cash Flow and Capital Management
Oversee cash flow forecasting, working capital management, and liquidity planning.
Develop strategies to maintain adequate operating capital and financial stability.
Manage relationships with banks, lenders, investors, and other financial partners.
Evaluate financing options and capital allocation decisions.
Monitor debt obligations, financing costs, and investment performance.
Support capital budgeting and evaluate the financial feasibility of major projects.
Risk Management and Compliance
Identify, assess, and manage financial and operational risks.
Ensure compliance with applicable financial regulations, tax requirements, and reporting obligations.
Oversee external audits, tax planning, and relationships with auditors and financial advisors.
Develop policies to protect company assets and reduce financial exposure.
Strengthen internal controls and promote accountability across financial operations.
Ensure appropriate financial documentation, recordkeeping, and reporting procedures.
Team Leadership and Collaboration
Lead, mentor, and develop finance and accounting teams.
Establish departmental objectives and performance expectations.
Collaborate with department heads to align financial plans with operational goals.
Promote accurate reporting, accountability, and continuous process improvement.
Oversee the implementation and improvement of financial systems, reporting tools, and procedures.
Support executive decision-making through financial analysis and strategic recommendations.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration preferred.
Extensive experience in financial leadership, corporate finance, accounting, or executive management.
Demonstrated experience in budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and cash flow management.
Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial controls, tax compliance, and risk management.
Experience leading finance and accounting teams.
Proficiency in financial modeling, Microsoft Excel, and financial management systems.
Excellent analytical, strategic planning, and problem-solving skills.
Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, and decision-making abilities.
High standards of integrity, confidentiality, and professional judgment.
Preferred Qualifications
CPA, CMA, CFA, or another relevant professional certification.
Experience serving as a CFO, Vice President of Finance, Finance Director, or Controller.
Experience with financial planning and analysis (FP&A), capital management, and business performance reporting.
Familiarity with ERP systems and accounting platforms.
Experience supporting business growth, restructuring, fundraising, or mergers and acquisitions.
Ability to translate complex financial information into clear business recommendations.
