Mid-Level QA (Shopify)

As a Mid-Level QA Tester at Convert Digital, you are responsible for ensuring high-quality delivery across multiple ecommerce projects through functional, regression, integration, and UX testing.
Reporting to the QA Manager, you validate features against acceptance criteria, identify risks early, and maintain strong commercial awareness to ensure reliable, high-performing releases across client builds.
Responsibilities and Expectations
QA Delivery
Deliver end-to-end QA across complex ecommerce workflows (checkout, payments, shipping, subscriptions, promotions) for multiple client accounts, prioritising workload based on delivery risk and timelines, ensuring all releases meet acceptance criteria and internal quality standards through structured pre-release validation across staging and live environments.
Quality & UX Oversight
Provide documented QA sign-off covering functionality, usability, performance, and commercial integrity, proactively identifying UX inconsistencies, conversion risks, and defects while tracking resolution to maintain release readiness.
Platform & Integration Validation
Ensure reliable implementation across ecommerce platforms (including Shopify) by testing custom themes, apps, APIs, integrations, analytics tracking, and third-party services. Validate GA4 and tracking accuracy, and identify performance, accessibility, SEO, and integration issues. Execute regression testing across browsers and devices to support stable, high-performing releases.
Risk & Defect Management
Proactively identify defects, edge cases, and integration risks early in the sprint lifecycle to minimise production impact. Raise risks with clear impact assessments and support root cause analysis of recurring defects to strengthen long-term delivery quality.
Agile Delivery Contribution
Actively participate in sprint ceremonies, contributing QA insight to planning, estimation, and prioritisation discussions. Review ticket readiness prior to testing to confirm scope clarity and testability, supporting smooth progression through development and QA cycles.
Team Support
Provide day-to-day guidance to Junior QA Testers, reviewing test cases and defect reporting to maintain clarity, consistency and high standards across the QA function.
Continuous Improvement
Track defect trends, regression outcomes, and release stability to provide insight into quality performance. Recommend improvements to QA processes, tools, and preventative testing strategies that enhance efficiency and reduce recurring issues.
Contribute to strengthening QA documentation, standards, and team capability.
Stakeholder Engagement & Communication
Demonstrate ownership and accountability for QA cycles and deliverables, providing clear, structured defect reporting with appropriate impact context. Communicate proactively and professionally with developers, producers, and stakeholders to maintain alignment and delivery confidence.
