Job Brief: JSW Steel Limited is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to oversee and manage operations within the Steel Melting Shop (SMS). This role demands a proactive leader responsible for ensuring efficient production processes, maintaining safety standards, and optimizing resource utilization in a high-volume manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will coordinate shift activities, lead a team of operators and technicians, and drive continuous improvement initiatives to meet production targets while adhering to quality and environmental standards.
Responsibilities:
Supervise and coordinate all activities during the assigned shift in the Steel Melting Shop to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
Monitor and control the steel melting process parameters to maintain product quality and meet production schedules.
Lead, mentor, and manage the shift team, including operators and technicians, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and operational procedures.
Implement and enforce strict compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations within the shop floor.
Analyze production data and generate shift reports highlighting performance metrics, deviations, and corrective actions.
Collaborate with maintenance teams to schedule and oversee preventive and corrective maintenance activities to minimize downtime.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives by identifying bottlenecks, recommending process optimizations, and implementing best practices.
Coordinate with other departments such as Quality Control, Logistics, and Engineering to ensure seamless workflow and timely resolution of operational issues.
Manage inventory of raw materials and consumables required for the melting process, ensuring availability and minimizing wastage.
Conduct regular training sessions and safety drills to enhance team competency and emergency preparedness.

Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field from a recognized institution.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in steel manufacturing operations, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or shift leadership role within a Steel Melting Shop or similar heavy manufacturing environment.
