Senior Project Engineer

Role Description The Senior Project Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in Ballari. This role is responsible for leading and executing engineering projects from concept through commissioning, ensuring alignment with safety, quality, budget, and timeline targets. Day-to-day activities include project planning, coordinating with cross-functional teams, reviewing technical designs, managing contractors and vendors, and monitoring project progress against milestones. The Senior Project Engineer will prepare technical reports, maintain documentation, support risk assessments, and drive problem-solving to remove execution bottlenecks. The role also involves supporting continuous improvement initiatives, optimizing plant performance, and ensuring compliance with JSW Steel’s sustainability and technology standards.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong Project Engineering and Electrical Engineering skills, with experience in industrial or heavy manufacturing environments.
Candidates should possess Project Management and Project Planning skills, including budgeting, scheduling, resource allocation, and risk management.
Candidates should possess effective Communication skills, enabling clear coordination with internal teams, contractors, and stakeholders.
Candidates should have a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline; a master’s degree is an advantage.
Candidates should have proven experience in executing large-scale capital projects, preferably in the steel, metals, or process industry.
Candidates should be familiar with relevant standards, safety regulations, and engineering codes, and be proficient in project and engineering software tools.
Candidates should demonstrate strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities, and be comfortable working on-site in a dynamic plant environment.
