About The Role
We are seeking a dedicated Java Developer (m/f/d) to join our agile team at AXA. In this role, you will play a vital part in the ongoing development and maintenance of our core insurance software, MSG LifeFactory. You will become an integral member of our DevOps team, focusing on the continuous enhancement of the LifeFactory platform, managing standard releases, and ensuring stable operations within a public cloud environment. Your primary responsibility will be to implement both technical and functional improvements within the customizing layer to facilitate seamless processing and management of life insurance policies. Leveraging your Java expertise, you will develop, adapt, and optimize software components, collaborate closely with cloud engineers to analyze and resolve errors, and ensure adherence to software architecture standards. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work at the intersection of software development, cloud technology, and insurance operations, contributing to innovative solutions that improve customer experience and operational efficiency.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess practical experience with the IPL Framework and have a strong background in developing and maintaining MSG LifeFactory software. You should demonstrate excellent Java skills, specifically with Java 21, and be proficient in frameworks such as Spring and Hibernate. Experience in creating and consuming Webservices (SOAP & REST) is essential. Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, cloud environments—particularly public clouds—and git-based development processes is required to efficiently implement modern software solutions. Candidates should also have the ability to manage complex system landscapes, maintain demanding IT solutions, and understand relevant legal and regulatory standards within the insurance sector. Fluency in both German and English is necessary to facilitate effective communication within our international team and with stakeholders.
Responsibilities
Participate actively in the DevOps team to continuously develop and improve the LifeFactory platform, including managing standard releases and ensuring stable cloud operations.
Implement technical and functional enhancements within the customizing layer to ensure the secure and efficient processing of life insurance policies.
Utilize Java expertise to develop, adapt, and optimize software components, as well as analyze and resolve errors collaboratively with cloud engineers.
Ensure compliance with software architecture guidelines by designing and maintaining reusable software components.
Contribute to the implementation and monitoring of quality assurance measures throughout the software development lifecycle to uphold high standards of software quality.
