About the Role
We are looking for a hands-on Network Provisioning & Commissioning Engineer to configure, activate, test, and hand over broadband and enterprise connectivity services.
The role covers Layer 2 and Layer 3 service provisioning, enterprise P2P connectivity, MikroTik BNG/BRAS deployment, GPON/EPON OLT commissioning, and end-to-end acceptance testing. You will work closely with service delivery, field operations, assurance NOC, and customer-facing teams to ensure services are delivered accurately and ready for operational support.
Key Responsibilities
Provision and activate Layer 2 services, including VLANs, QinQ, VLAN stacking, EoMPLS, VPLS, and pseudowire-based connectivity.
Configure and commission Layer 3 enterprise services, including P2P links, VRFs, static routing, BGP peering, sub-interfaces, and direct internet connectivity.
Configure routing and switching elements on provider-edge, aggregation, and access devices.
Stage, configure, and deploy MikroTik CCR routers for BNG/BRAS and broadband service-delivery use cases.
Configure PPPoE, IPoE, DHCP services, Option 82, RADIUS/AAA integration, NAT/CGNAT, firewall policies, traffic queues, and bandwidth-management policies.
Provision and integrate GPON/EPON OLTs into the aggregation network.
Configure OLT service components such as VLAN mappings, line profiles, service profiles, DBA profiles, GEM ports, ONUs, and ONTs.
Perform end-to-end testing, including loopback testing, throughput testing, latency, jitter, frame-loss, and MTU validation.
Support RFC 2544 and ITU-T Y.1564 testing where required for enterprise service acceptance.
Maintain accurate IPAM records, VLAN registers, circuit IDs, configuration backups, and network topology documentation.
Prepare customer acceptance reports, test results, service handover documents, and operational handoff details for the assurance NOC.
Troubleshoot provisioning issues and coordinate with field teams, transmission teams, and internal network operations teams through resolution.
Required Skills & Qualifications
3–5 years of experience in network provisioning, service delivery, ISP operations, enterprise connectivity, or network implementation.
Good understanding of Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking, including VLANs, QinQ, static routing, OSPF, BGP, MPLS L2VPN, and MPLS L3VPN.
Hands-on experience with enterprise P2P links, broadband service activation, and circuit commissioning.
Working knowledge of MikroTik RouterOS, including CCR configuration, PPPoE, BGP, NAT, firewall rules, queues, and traffic management.
Experience with GPON/EPON technologies, OLT configuration, ONU/ONT provisioning, and optical-power verification.
Familiarity with networking equipment from major vendors such as Cisco, Juniper, Huawei, Nokia, ZTE, MikroTik, or equivalent platforms.
Experience using network-testing tools such as iperf3, traffic testers, optical power meters, or similar tools.
Strong documentation, troubleshooting, communication, and cross-team coordination skills.
Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Electronics & Telecommunications, Computer Engineering, IT, or a related field.
Preferred / Nice to Have
Experience with RFC 2544 or ITU-T Y.1564 service-acceptance testing.
Exposure to IP address management tools, network inventory systems, or service ticketing platforms.
CCNA, JNCIA, MikroTik, or similar networking certification.
Experience in an ISP, managed-service provider, or enterprise network environment.
What Success Looks Like
Accurate and timely activation of broadband and enterprise network services.
Complete test results and documentation before service handover.
Clear coordination among provisioning, field operations, NOC, and customer teams.
Reliable IP, VLAN, circuit, and topology records.
