We are seeking a strategic, analytical, and data-driven Data Governance Manager to establish and oversee enterprise data governance frameworks, improve data quality, and ensure the effective, secure, and compliant management of organizational data.
The successful candidate will lead data governance initiatives, establish data management standards, strengthen accountability, and work with cross-functional teams to transform data into a reliable strategic asset that supports business intelligence, operational efficiency, and informed decision-making.
🎯 Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement enterprise data governance strategies, policies, and standards.
Establish data ownership, stewardship, accountability, and data lifecycle management processes.
Define and monitor data quality standards, metrics, and improvement initiatives.
Ensure data management practices align with applicable privacy, security, and regulatory requirements.
Develop data classification, access control, retention, and documentation policies.
Collaborate with IT, Data Analytics, Information Security, Legal, and business teams.
Establish procedures for metadata management, data lineage, and master data management.
Identify data governance risks and implement appropriate mitigation measures.
Support data architecture, business intelligence, analytics, and AI initiatives through reliable data management practices.
Monitor governance performance, data quality KPIs, and policy compliance.
Lead data governance assessments, internal reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Provide training and guidance to employees on data governance policies and best practices.
Present governance performance, risks, and strategic recommendations to senior management.
✅ Requirements
Proven experience in data governance, data management, data quality, or a related field.
Strong understanding of data governance frameworks, policies, and operating models.
Knowledge of data privacy, information security, and regulatory compliance requirements.
Familiarity with metadata management, data lineage, master data management, and data quality tools.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication, stakeholder management, and leadership capabilities.
Ability to translate business requirements into practical data governance solutions.
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Science, Business Analytics, or a related field is preferred.
Relevant certifications in data management or governance, such as DAMA-CDMP, are advantageous.
Experience supporting enterprise analytics, cloud data platforms, or AI governance initiatives is an added advantage.
