🎯 Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement research commercialization strategies aligned with organizational objectives and market opportunities.
Identify commercially promising research outputs, emerging technologies, intellectual property (IP), and innovation opportunities.
Evaluate the commercial potential of research projects through market research, feasibility studies, competitive analysis, and business case development.
Lead technology transfer initiatives, licensing negotiations, and commercialization agreements with industry partners.
Build strategic relationships with universities, research institutions, startups, corporations, investors, and government agencies.
Develop commercialization roadmaps, business models, go-to-market strategies, and revenue-generation plans for research-based innovations.
Coordinate intellectual property protection, patent assessments, licensing strategies, and IP portfolio management with relevant legal and technical teams.
Support the development of spin-off companies, startups, joint ventures, and other research-driven business opportunities.
Identify funding opportunities, grants, investment partners, and strategic resources to accelerate commercialization activities.
Facilitate collaboration between researchers, product development teams, business units, and external industry stakeholders.
Monitor market trends, emerging technologies, industry needs, and competitor activities to identify new commercialization opportunities.
Negotiate commercial partnerships, licensing terms, research agreements, and other business development arrangements.
Track commercialization performance through revenue, licensing agreements, technology adoption, partnership growth, and other key performance indicators (KPIs).
Ensure commercialization activities comply with applicable IP laws, contractual obligations, research ethics, and regulatory requirements.
Prepare commercialization proposals, investment presentations, management reports, and strategic recommendations for senior leadership.
Advise management on research investment priorities, commercialization risks, and opportunities to maximize the economic and societal impact of innovation.
