About The Role
Decathlon India serves 60+ sports through 130+ stores, a high-traffic app, and e-commerce platforms. We are fundamentally transforming how India discovers, buys, and experiences sports retail online, in-store, and everywhere in between. As a Product Designer at Decathlon India, you won’t just be "making things pretty"—you will orchestrate end-to-end user journeys that move real business metrics.
You will operate in a high-speed, agile product pod alongside Product Managers, Engineers, and Data Analysts. This is a high-ownership role where you will turn complex user needs and business constraints into intuitive, high-impact digital experiences that delight millions of active lifestyle consumers.
Location: Bengaluru, India (On-site / Hybrid - Whitefield + Anubhava)
Contract type: Third-Party Payroll
Experience: 3 – 6 Years
What You’ll Do
End-to-End Ownership: Take full responsibility for features throughout the entire lifecycle – from discovery, framing, wireframing, and rapid prototyping to production-ready UI and engineering QA.
Pod & Agile Collaboration: Partner closely with Product Managers, Engineers, and Data Analysts to frame problems, scope MVPs, and align on core metrics before designing.
Design for Every State: Deliver thorough specs and interaction models covering edge cases, empty states, error handling, loading states, and offline conditions—not just the happy path.
Data-Informed Decisions: Combine qualitative usability testing and interviews with quantitative analytics (A/B testing, heatmaps, conversion funnels) to validate concepts and iterate post-launch.
Rapid & AI-Assisted Prototyping: Build interactive prototypes using modern tools to validate flows and test usability before engineering work begins.
Scalable Systems & Accessibility: Evolve our central design system across web and native app platforms, maintaining accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1 AA) and component efficiency.
Stakeholder Advocacy: Confidently present and defend design decisions in critiques and leadership reviews, connecting user advocacy directly to business outcomes.
Make sure it ships right: Pair with engineers on handoff and run design QA so what goes live matches the intent.
What We’re Looking For
3 to 6 Years Experience: Proven product design experience in high-traffic B2C, e-commerce, or consumer SaaS platforms.
Shipped Mobile Work: Demonstrated mastery of iOS and Android native app patterns and web design systems.
Modern Tooling & AI-Forward Mindset: Expertise in Figma (auto-layout, variables, components) alongside active use of AI-assisted design and research tools to boost quality and speed.
Design for India: Deep awareness of varied device capabilities, network connectivity variations, local languages, and first-time online shoppers.
Craft & Visual Excellence: A refined eye for layout, typography, color hierarchy, and micro-interactions.
Collaboration & Low Ego: Low ego, open to constructive feedback, and capable of articulating design decisions clearly to cross-functional partners.
Portfolio Required: 2–3 in-depth case studies showcasing your end-to-end process, personal contributions, and measurable business impact.
Nice to Haves
Omnichannel Retail: Experience connecting online and store journeys (e.g., Click & Collect, store inventory, in-store CRM).
Motion & Front-End Awareness: Experience with motion design (After Effects, Rive, Lottie) or basic HTML/CSS/Flutter understanding.
Sports Enthusiast: A personal passion for sports and an active lifestyle.
