Biomedical Engineer - Manager

Role Description The Biomedical Engineer - Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Mumbai, responsible for leading biomedical engineering activities within Stemz Healthcare facilities. This role oversees the selection, installation, integration, calibration, and maintenance of medical equipment and diagnostic devices, ensuring compliance with safety standards, regulatory requirements, and accreditation guidelines. The manager coordinates with clinical, laboratory, and IT teams to align technology solutions with care pathways and workflow efficiency, while troubleshooting technical issues and implementing preventive maintenance programs. Daily responsibilities include managing engineering projects, supervising and mentoring team members, optimizing equipment lifecycle and vendor relationships, and preparing technical documentation and reports for internal stakeholders and external auditors. The role also contributes to continuous improvement initiatives, supporting innovation through collaboration on software-driven solutions and data-enabled tools that enhance patient care quality and operational performance.
Qualifications
Demonstrated capability in Engineering Management and Project Management for biomedical or healthcare technology environments.
Strong Team Leadership experience, including mentoring, performance management, and cross-functional collaboration.
Exposure to Software Development and Integration of medical devices with hospital information systems, LIS, EHR, or monitoring platforms.
Solid understanding of biomedical engineering principles, medical equipment functionality, and healthcare technology standards.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Biomedical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a closely related field.
Experience working in accredited laboratories, hospitals, or diagnostic centers; familiarity with CAP or similar standards is an advantage.
Knowledge of regulatory requirements, safety protocols, and quality management systems applicable to medical devices and diagnostics.
Ability to analyze technical data, manage budgets, negotiate with vendors, and support equipment procurement decisions.
Effective written and verbal communication skills, with proficiency in documenting procedures, policies, and technical reports.
Strong problem-solving mindset, attention to detail, and readiness to work on-site in a dynamic, fast-paced healthcare setting in Mumbai.
