IT Systems Administrator

Role Description The IT Systems Administrator is a part-time remote role responsible for maintaining and supporting the organization’s IT infrastructure. Day-to-day tasks include managing system and network configurations, monitoring performance, and ensuring secure and reliable access to digital platforms and services. The role involves providing technical support to team members, diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, and connectivity issues, and implementing routine updates and backups. The IT Systems Administrator will collaborate with editorial and media teams to keep content distribution systems, storage solutions, and online channels running smoothly. This position also contributes to improving IT processes and recommending enhancements that support secure, efficient news operations.
Qualifications
Strong System Administration skills, including configuration, monitoring, updates, and backup management.
Proficiency in Network Administration, covering network setup, security, performance troubleshooting, and connectivity support.
Experience providing Technical Support and Troubleshooting for hardware, software, and online platforms.
Solid foundation in Information Technology, including operating systems, cloud services, and basic cybersecurity practices.
Relevant education or certifications in IT, Computer Science, or related fields (e.g., CompTIA, Cisco, Microsoft) are beneficial.
Ability to work independently in a remote setting, prioritize tasks, and document processes clearly.
Familiarity with media or news environments, content management systems, and data protection best practices is an advantage.
Strong communication skills and a commitment to ethical, non-discriminatory collaboration with diverse team members.
