Full-time | Permanent | On-Site
Mō tēnei tūranga mahi | About the role:
Please note that this role will be commencing on 1st of February 2027.
We are looking for an International Student Compliance & Assurance Analyst to join our Auckland-based team.
Reporting to the Head of Internal Control International Compliance (NZ), this role provides independent oversight and assurance across UP Education’s New Zealand providers, helping ensure our international student compliance processes, data and internal controls are accurate, effective and aligned with regulatory requirements.
You’ll play an important role in reviewing compliance across the business – reviewing evidence, testing controls, analysing data and identifying discrepancies, emerging risks or areas for improvement that may not always be visible through day-to-day operational processes.
This is a varied role combining compliance, audit and assurance, data analysis, reporting and continuous improvement. Key responsibilities include:
Conducting scheduled and risk-based compliance audits, reviews and data checks
Reviewing international enrolment, visa, attendance and compliance documentation
Testing processes and controls against internal policies and regulatory requirements
Analysing student data to identify discrepancies, trends and emerging compliance risks
Preparing clear, evidence-based compliance and assurance reports for leadership
Tracking audit findings and corrective actions, ensuring issues are appropriately addressed
Supporting Code of Practice self-reviews and internal and external audit activities
Partnering with provider teams to strengthen processes, data quality and audit readiness
He kōrero mōu | About you:
You’ll be naturally analytical, curious and detail-focused, with the confidence to question information when something doesn’t look right. You’ll enjoy working with data and evidence to understand not only what has happened, but why, and whether an issue is isolated or points to a wider process or control risk.
You’ll also be comfortable working with a range of stakeholders and able to communicate compliance findings clearly and constructively.
Ideally, you will bring:
A relevant qualification in data analytics, business, compliance, information systems, education or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
Experience in compliance, audit, risk, data analysis, student administration or another regulated environment
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail
Advanced Excel skills, with confidence working with and analysing large datasets
The ability to identify discrepancies, trends and potential risks within data and processes
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly present findings
Sound judgement and confidence to question information and escalate concerns appropriately
A collaborative and organised approach, with the ability to build strong stakeholder relationships while maintaining confidentiality
Experience with Power BI, data visualisation, automation or AI tools, CRM/student management systems, international education, quality assurance or the New Zealand tertiary education sector would be advantageous but is not essential.
Knowledge of international student or immigration compliance would also be beneficial; however, Licensed Immigration Adviser (LIA) status is not required.
