Accountant

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Accountant to join our team in Almaty, Kazakhstan. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with local regulations.
Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger maintenance
Prepare and process month-end and year-end closing entries
Develop and maintain financial reports and statements
Reconcile bank statements and perform account analyses
Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts
Ensure compliance with local tax regulations and financial reporting standards
Collaborate with internal and external auditors during audits
Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy
Participate in special projects and ad-hoc financial analyses as needed
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
Minimum of 2-3 years of accounting experience, preferably in a corporate environment
Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices
Proficiency in Excel and experience with accounting software (SAP preferred)
Familiarity with Kazakhstani accounting standards and regulations
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
Effective communication and interpersonal skills
Fluency in English and Russian; knowledge of Kazakh is a plus
Professional accounting certification (e.g., CPA) is preferred
Experience with month-end closing processes
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
