Cybersecurity Analyst

Role Description This part-time remote Cybersecurity Analyst role focuses on protecting the organization’s digital assets and learning platforms. The Cybersecurity Analyst monitors systems and networks for security events, investigates potential threats, and supports incident response activities. The role includes assessing application and network vulnerabilities, reviewing security logs, and assisting in the implementation of security controls and best practices. The analyst collaborates with technology and learning teams to ensure that security measures align with the organization’s mission and the privacy needs of learners and partners.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong Cybersecurity and Analytical Skills to identify, assess, and prioritize risks.
Candidates should possess Network Security skills to secure network infrastructure, monitor traffic, and manage firewalls or related tools.
Candidates should possess Application Security skills to evaluate and improve the security of web and cloud-based applications.
Candidates should possess Malware Analysis skills to detect, analyze, and help mitigate malicious software and related threats.
Relevant certifications (e.g., Security+, CEH, CISSP or equivalent experience) and familiarity with common security frameworks and tools are beneficial.
Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a remote, collaborative, and mission-driven environment are preferred.
Experience in educational technology, AI systems, or privacy and compliance (e.g., GDPR, FERPA) is a plus.
