Role Description The Assistant Research Scientist will support data-driven projects focused on improving bookkeeping processes, client reporting, and internal decision-making. This part-time, remote role involves collecting and organizing financial and operational data, conducting basic quantitative and qualitative analyses, and summarizing findings in clear, actionable formats. Responsibilities include documenting research methods, preparing reports and presentations for internal teams, and assisting with the evaluation of new tools or workflows. The role may also involve collaborating with bookkeeping staff to test process improvements, track key performance metrics, and support special research initiatives as the firm grows.
Qualifications
Ability to perform structured research, including data collection, organization, and basic analysis.
Strong written and verbal communication skills for summarizing findings and preparing clear reports.
Attention to detail and accuracy when working with numerical and financial information.
Comfort with spreadsheets and data tools (e.g., Excel, Google Sheets; familiarity with QuickBooks Online is a plus).
Organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple projects in a part-time, remote environment.
Collaborative mindset and willingness to work closely with bookkeeping and operations teams.
Interest or coursework in fields such as accounting, finance, business, data analytics, or related areas.
