1. About the Project
The city-wide project by Sri Aurobindo Society is to create a participatory citizenship channel in Chandigarh. It will work with RWAs, Ward Councilors, and the vibrant community hosts, to activate public spaces with participatory and meaningful activities. It is expected to engage thousands of Chandigarh residents, and create a wider civic influence network through storytelling, social media, and community participation.
2. Role Purpose
We are seeking a Video Editor for our video podcast. He will be responsible for transforming full-length podcast recordings into crisp and engaging episodes and extracting reels to grow our reach across social platforms.
3. Key Responsibilities
1. Full-Length Podcast Editing:
· Edit multi-camera or single-camera audio/video podcast recordings into episodes.
· Clean and enhance the audio – by de-noising, level balancing, removing long pauses and crosstalk.
· Color correction, and brand-aligned screen layouts
· Insert intro/outro sequences. Logos and background music
· Generate precise transcriptions and subtitle files (.srt) for full episodes.
2. Short-Form Content Creation – Reels/ Story
· Identify and extract the most engaging moments from each podcast episode.
· Format the Reel and Add text captions/subtitles
5. Required Skills and Competencies
· Strong written communication skills in English and Hindi.
· Ability to write warm, clear, public-facing content.
· Good understanding of social media platforms.
· Proven experience as a Video Editor
· Experience using transcription and captioning tools
· Strong understanding of visual storytelling—knowing when to cut, how to pace speech, and how to select complementary B-roll.
· Fluency in Hindi and English is required. Knowledge of Punjabi will be an advantage.
