Senior Manager – Certificates & Public Key Infrastructure (PKI)

About the Role
Inceptial Tech is looking for an experienced technology professional to lead enterprise Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) engineering and certificate lifecycle management within the Information Security function.
The role involves managing enterprise PKI platforms, cryptographic key protection, certificate automation, and security operations while leading engineering teams and ensuring reliable, secure production services.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead PKI engineering teams and oversee technical delivery.
* Manage enterprise Certificate Authority (CA) hierarchies, HSMs, and key management processes.
* Oversee certificate issuance, renewal, revocation, discovery, and lifecycle automation.
* Manage code-signing, device certificates, and user certificate services.
* Define cryptographic standards, certificate policies, and approved algorithms.
* Coordinate with vendors and Certificate Authority providers.
* Ensure platform availability, audit readiness, and certificate expiry prevention.
* Support cryptographic agility and post-quantum cryptography migration planning.
Required Skills
* Strong expertise in PKI architecture and certificate lifecycle management.
* Knowledge of X.509 certificates, TLS, certificate validation, revocation, and trust stores.
* Experience with Microsoft Active Directory Certificate Services (AD CS).
* Familiarity with platforms such as Venafi, Keyfactor, DigiCert, Entrust, or HashiCorp Vault.
* Experience with ACME, certificate automation, and Hardware Security Modules (HSMs).
* Strong knowledge of cryptographic key management and code signing.
* Experience in technical leadership, vendor management, and security operations.
Experience & Qualifications
* 15–18 years of experience in infrastructure or security engineering.
* At least 3 years of team management or technical leadership experience.
* Experience managing enterprise-scale PKI platforms and production certificate services.
* CISSP, CISM, or relevant PKI certifications are preferred.
