About the role
Description supplied by the original job listing.
Shape how parcels move across Europe — and make it stick Group-wide.
InPost Group · Operations · Group Middle-Mile Logistics
Location: International · Scope: All Group markets: PL, FR, UK, ES, IT, BeNe + future markets
Reports to: Head of Group Middle-Mile Logistics
Own the way InPost Group moves parcels between hubs. You will set, standardize and continuously improve our linehaul (middle-mile) model across every Group market — freight fill rate, transit time and cross-market lane optimization.
You are the Group voice on transport and linehaul for Country COOs: senior, visible and trusted to turn data into decisions.
What you'll do
Set the standard. Own the Group standard for linehaul management: freight fill rate, route design and capacity planning.
Optimize the flow. Improve parcel flow and fill rate across markets; build Group dashboards (fill rate, transit time, cost KPIs, SLA per leg).
Open new lanes. Lead cross-border lane optimization (e.g. Belgium–Netherlands and other emerging lanes) — a direct Country COO priority.
Fix what slows us down. Own transit-time performance, find root causes and lead corrective plans with the markets.
Make the case. Prepare cost-benefit and risk business cases for network redesign and transport investment, for Country COO decisions.
Drive Project Flair. Contribute to the technology-enabled linehaul redesign in France: carrier collaboration, settlement, monitoring.
Support our markets. Back France, Iberia and Italy (network planning / TMS), new markets (BeNe) and new transport partnerships (e.g. Scandinavia, FedEx, Germany).
Align everyone. Standardize transport reports and tools (incl. ELF), share best practice, and act as Group escalation point with Country COOs and Network Management, including RACI-based approval of linehaul plans.
Lead. Manage two direct reports (International and Domestic Middle-Mile Planners, Senior Specialists) and guide market transport managers and planners as a matrix leader. You co-own and safeguard the international Middle-Mile transport budget (not a formal budget holder).
Bachelor's in logistics, supply chain, transport engineering, business/economics or related field
5 years in a logistics company (ideally e-commerce, logistics network or courier) managing large-scale, multi-market transport or network-flow operations
3 years preparing advanced business cases and reports for senior stakeholders
3 years leading or actively taking part in international standardization, optimization or systems-implementation projects
English C1
Advanced Excel, PowerPoint and Power BI; strong analysis of large data sets; grasp of linehaul network economics
Executive presence, stakeholder management and negotiation with senior audiences (incl. transport partners)
Ability to influence without direct authority and to set and enforce standards across markets of different maturity
Resilience and ownership in fast-changing, high-visibility settings; cross-cultural sensitivity
Who you will work with
Internally: Senior Leadership Team, Country COOs, Network Management, hubs and branches, Transport teams, Tech / TMS, Finance and PMO. Externally: TMS / GPS vendors, transport and carrier partners, and industry organizations.
