Flight Controls & Avionics Engineer

Flight Controls Engineer with experience in designing, integrating, and optimizing UAV systems across fixed-wing and multi-copter platforms. Proven expertise in autopilot integration, avionics testing, UAV tuning, and flight test operations, with a strong focus on system reliability and performance.
Core Expertise:
Flight control system design, control loop tuning, and stability optimization
Autopilot integration & troubleshooting (PX4, ArduPilot, custom controllers)
End-to-end avionics integration, validation, and testing
Fixed-wing & multi-copter UAV tuning and flight envelope expansion
Flight planning, mission execution, and field testing
Flight log analysis for debugging, performance optimization, and RCA
Sensor integration & calibration (IMU, GPS, barometer, airspeed sensors)
SITL/HITL simulation, real-time testing, and system validation
Root cause analysis and resolution of flight/system-level issues
Cross-functional collaboration with avionics, embedded, and mechanical teams
Education
Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field with relevant project.
Experience
Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in flight control system design and development, with a focus on UAVs.
Extensive experience in multi-copter and fixed-wing autopilot systems integration and tuning.
Strong experience in sensor integration and calibration for UAV navigation and control systems.
Extensive proficiency in control system design and analysis using tools such as MATLAB/Simulink.
Significant experience with certification processes and requirements.
Proven track record of leading successful flight control system projects.
Technical Skills
Deep understanding of control theory, flight dynamics, and kinematics.
Expertise with embedded systems and real-time operating systems (RTOS).
In-depth knowledge of UAV autopilot systems, navigation sensors, and communication protocols.
Hands-on experience in UAV tuning, flight testing, and performance optimization.
Experience with model-based design and development.
