THE PROJECT
360° Hilltop Wellness & Social Pavilion
CURARCH is launching an international open call for an architectural commission in Southern Brazil.
Located at the highest point of a nature-integrated residential development, the project envisions an approximately 2,000 m² architectural pavilion, surrounded by panoramic views of the landscape.
The program brings together wellness, leisure, social gathering spaces, and connections to outdoor recreational facilities.
We are looking for a distinctive architectural vision that explores the relationship between built form, nature, and human experience.
An opportunity to imagine architecture not simply as a building, but as part of a larger living system.
THE DESIGN COMMISSION
The selected architect or independent studio will develop an integrated architectural concept encompassing:
* Architectural concept and preliminary design
* Spatial planning and functional organization
* Conceptual interior architecture and design
* Conceptual landscape design and integration with outdoor spaces
* Materiality, atmosphere, and architectural identity
* 3D visualizations and presentation materials
* Architectural plans, sections, elevations, and diagrams to communicate the design intent and guide subsequent technical development
The commission focuses on conceptual and preliminary design. Construction documentation, engineering, and local regulatory approvals are not included.
PROJECT FRAMEWORK
Location: Southern Brazil
Estimated project area: 2,000 m²
Work arrangement: Remote / International
Engagement: Project-based collaboration
Proposed commission budget: BRL 50,000
Estimated duration: 3 months
Design collaboration: Weekly or biweekly reviews, according to project milestones
The design process will be guided by a carefully curated architectural brief, with ongoing creative dialogue and room for original thinking.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We welcome applications from architects and independent design studios worldwide.
We are particularly interested in professionals who demonstrate:
* A distinctive architectural vision and strong conceptual thinking
* Sensitivity to nature, landscape, and context
* An understanding of architecture as a relationship between people, spaces, and environments
* Experience or a strong portfolio in hospitality, wellness, leisure, cultural, or residential architecture
* The ability to develop and communicate a coherent architectural concept
* A thoughtful approach to materials, atmosphere, and spatial experience
* The ability to collaborate across architecture, interiors, and landscape design
Emerging architects and small independent studios are especially encouraged to apply.
We value the strength of ideas over the size or reputation of a practice.
SELECTION PROCESS
01 — PORTFOLIO REVIEW
Architects and studios are invited to submit their portfolios and a brief professional introduction.
No design proposal is required at this stage.
02 — PAID DESIGN SHORTLIST
Three selected architects or studios will be invited to participate in a compensated conceptual design exercise.
Shortlisted participants will receive a detailed project brief, clearly defined deliverables, timeline, compensation details, and participation terms before undertaking any design work.
03 — FINAL SELECTION
One architect or studio will be selected based on architectural vision, conceptual quality, response to the brief, and overall design approach.
04 — DESIGN COMMISSION
The selected architect or studio will be offered a three-month commission to develop the architectural, interior, and landscape concept.
The proposed commission budget is BRL 50,000, subject to an agreed scope, deliverables, schedule, and professional contract.
