The product is a gamified, quiz-first app that explores African proverbs, traditions, rites of passage, festivals, folklore, and customs. Designed for Africans and the global diaspora, Superfan.ng promotes cultural learning through interactive and engaging experiences. The team focuses on building intuitive digital products that make cultural and linguistic knowledge accessible and enjoyable for a wide audience.
Role Description As a Freelance User Interface Designer at Superfan.ng, you will design and refine user interfaces for our web and mobile experiences, ensuring they are visually engaging and easy to use. You will create high-fidelity mockups, UI components, and design systems that support a gamified learning experience, collaborating closely with product, content, and development teams. On a day-to-day basis, you will translate product requirements into clear user flows, iterate on designs based on feedback and research insights, and prepare assets and specifications for implementation. This is a full-time remote role, requiring proactive communication, regular collaboration across time zones, and consistent delivery of high-quality design work.
Qualifications
Strong user interface design skills, including User Interface Design and Visual Design for web and mobile products.
Ability to design and iterate on screens and components using Mockups and related prototyping tools.
Experience collaborating on User Experience (UX) decisions, including user flows, information hierarchy, and interaction patterns.
Basic understanding of Front-End Development to create designs that are feasible, responsive, and implementation-ready.
Proficiency with modern design tools (e.g., Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD) and familiarity with design systems.
Strong attention to detail, ability to work independently in a remote setup, and clear written and verbal communication skills.
Experience designing for gamified products, educational platforms, or culturally focused apps is a plus.
Relevant education or equivalent practical experience in design, human-computer interaction, or a related field.
