THE JOB:
The Food Runner for the famous Nine Fine Irishmen pub inside New York, New York plays a vital role in delivering an exceptional dining experience by serving guests with friendly, attentive, and prompt tableside service. The primary responsibility of this position is to ensure that every dish is delivered accurately and efficiently while creating memorable guest interactions. The Food Runner must be able to describe all dishes presented in the dining room in a detailed and enthusiastic manner, answer guest questions knowledgeably, and support the restaurant team in maintaining the high standards of hospitality for which Nine Fine Irishmen is known.
THE STARTING RATE: $15.2156 Hourly + Tips
THE DAY-TO-DAY:
Greet guest in a positive, friendly manner, making them feel welcome
Expedite food from the kitchen to the table as dictated by sequence of service and by the Chef or kitchen expediter
Describe food upon placement on the table, answering questions pertaining to the dishes
Describe menu features as needed (include changes and additions)
Communicate with expediter to ensure delivery of food to the correct table and position
Perform assigned open and closing side-work
Communicate needs of the guest to kitchen and management, inform management of guest reaction and comments and assist management to ensure smooth operation and quality service
Check dining area, tables and chairs for cleanliness, maintain cleanliness and organization of station and service area
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:
Must be 18 years of age or older
Work varied shifts, to include weekends and holidays
Experience in a high-volume dining restaurant as a Food Runner or Server preferred
Experience working in a similar resort setting
