About The Role
We are seeking a skilled React Software Engineer to join our team supporting a mission-critical application modernization program for a Department of War (DoW) customer. This role provides a unique opportunity to contribute to the modernization and sustainment of essential applications, enhancing user experience and operational continuity. The successful candidate will be responsible for front-end development, troubleshooting, and supporting ongoing maintenance of production applications within a structured Agile environment. The project involves creating a unified platform that offers single sign-on, consistent user interfaces, and seamless integration of legacy systems into modernized applications. The role requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams, participation in two-week Agile sprints, and engagement with customer demonstrations to showcase progress. This position offers a hybrid work environment, with options for remote work within approved locations and on-site support at government facilities in Northern Virginia and Maryland. The role is ideal for candidates with a strong background in React development, front-end troubleshooting, and familiarity with release processes, seeking to make a meaningful impact in national security initiatives.
Qualifications
Minimum of 3 years of professional front-end software engineering experience using React
Experience working within formal software release processes
Active Secret security clearance
Proficiency in front-end development, troubleshooting, and application sustainment
Strong understanding of Agile development methodologies
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced, mission-critical environment
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with Java-based back-end systems
Familiarity with accessibility testing and standards
Previous experience supporting government or defense projects
Knowledge of security protocols and compliance requirements
Responsibilities
Develop and maintain front-end components for React applications, ensuring responsiveness and usability
Troubleshoot and resolve front-end defects across multiple applications, including a public-facing single-page application backed by Redis
Support ongoing maintenance and operational stability of production applications
Assist in embedded-adapter integration to enable legacy system functionality within modernized platform shells
Collaborate with development teams to implement modernization initiatives and ensure seamless application performance
Participate actively in two-week Agile sprints, including preparing and delivering customer demonstrations at the end of each cycle
Contribute to the documentation of code, processes, and best practices to facilitate team knowledge sharing
Support security and compliance requirements throughout the development lifecycle
