Immigration & Refugee Lawyer

Siddiky Law is hiring a full-time, remote Immigration & Refugee Lawyer to start right away.
We handle refugee files from the first hearing through to removal. We need an experienced lawyer who can run Federal Court stay motions, deferral requests and RPD hearings from day one.
💼 Position: Immigration & Refugee Lawyer (Full-time)
💰 Salary: $80,000/year + performance bonus
📍 Location: Remote (Ontario, Canada)
📅 Start date: Monday, October 19
WHAT YOU'LL DO
• Prepare and argue motions for a stay of removal in the Federal Court, mostly after RAD denials and other negative appeal decisions
• Draft and submit deferral of removal requests to CBSA
• Prepare clients for and represent them at Refugee Protection Division (RPD) hearings
• Assess claim eligibility under current law, including the new Bill C-12 ineligibility rules
• Manage your own caseload, with oversight from the principal lawyer
WHAT YOU NEED
• Licensed lawyer in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario
• Hands-on experience with Federal Court stay motions and deferral of removal requests (required)
• Experience representing clients at RPD hearings
• Up-to-date knowledge of Canadian immigration and refugee law (IRPA, IRB procedure, Bill C-12)
• Ability to work independently. You will be supervised, but this is not a training position.
NICE TO HAVE
• Judicial review, RAD appeal, PRRA or H&C experience
• Additional languages
