Role Description The CCTV Service Engineer role is a full-time remote position responsible for ensuring the proper installation, configuration, and functioning of CCTV systems and associated equipment. Day-to-day tasks include performing diagnostics and troubleshooting on hardware and software issues, providing remote technical support to field teams or customers, and guiding them through setup and problem resolution. The engineer will coordinate with field service personnel, maintain service records, and support preventive maintenance activities to reduce system downtime. The role also involves clear communication with clients, interpreting their requirements, and recommending technical solutions or upgrades to improve system performance and reliability.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong Troubleshooting skills for diagnosing and resolving CCTV system issues efficiently.
Candidates should possess Field Service-related abilities, including remote coordination with on-site technicians and understanding typical installation practices.
Candidates should possess Communication skills to interact clearly with customers, colleagues, and stakeholders in technical and non-technical terms.
Candidates should possess Technical Support capabilities, including remote assistance, ticket handling, and documentation of solutions.
Candidates should possess Maintenance & Repair skills for CCTV cameras, DVR/NVR units, networking components, and related peripherals.
Working knowledge of IP and analog CCTV systems, basic networking (TCP/IP, routers, switches), and power supply requirements.
Ability to work independently in a remote environment, manage priorities, and respond promptly to service requests.
Relevant technical diploma or degree in electronics, electrical, or IT-related field; industry certifications in CCTV or networking are an advantage.
Prior experience in security systems, surveillance solutions, or similar technical service roles is preferred.
