About The Role
We are seeking a Telecommunications Network Engineer to join our team supporting the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA). This role is vital in maintaining and enhancing the enterprise telecommunications network and cloud infrastructure. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in telecommunications network design, management, and operational support, with the ability to work independently on moderately complex projects. The position involves analyzing, designing, and implementing voice, data, video, and wireless services across multiple DLA locations. The engineer will collaborate closely with other information system professionals and functional users to develop solutions that meet operational requirements and ensure seamless communication services. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to national defense initiatives, working within a fast-paced environment that values innovation and technical expertise.
Qualifications
Qualified candidates must possess an active Secret security clearance, including a High Risk, Critical Sensitive, Tier 5/SSBI investigation. A minimum of three years of relevant experience in network engineering is required. Candidates should hold an active DoD-approved 8570 baseline certification at Category IAT Level II and a Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification. Additionally, familiarity with telecommunications network analysis, design, and management systems is essential. Candidates must demonstrate strong problem-solving skills, the ability to work independently, and effective communication skills to coordinate with various stakeholders. U.S. citizenship is mandatory for this role, given the security clearance requirements.
Responsibilities
Design, analyze, and manage telecommunications networks supporting voice, data, video, and wireless services across multiple locations.
Develop and implement plans for the installation, maintenance, and upgrade of telecommunications systems from inception to completion.
Analyze network requirements, troubleshoot issues, and develop system specifications to ensure optimal performance and security.
Coordinate with other information system professionals and functional users to ensure proper implementation and integration of network services.
Develop alternative solutions and backup plans to mitigate risks and ensure continuous network availability.
Support the operational needs of current and emerging telecom technologies within the enterprise environment.
Maintain comprehensive documentation of network configurations, procedures, and standards.
Participate in security assessments and ensure compliance with applicable security policies and procedures.
