Strategic Advisor
About Us
Blackmont Consulting is a student-led organisation founded in 2020, focused on delivering rigorous, insight-driven analysis to
support organisations in making better decisions and achieving measurable impact. We operate at the intersection of strategy,
execution, and talent development, working with startups, nonprofits, and growing organisations across multiple markets.
About the Role
As a Strategic Advisor, you will mentor and support Project Managers throughout the delivery of live consulting projects.
Rather than managing projects directly, you will act as an independent advisor, helping Project managers strengthen their strategic thinking, overcome project challenges, and deliver high-quality outcomes for clients.
Each Strategic Advisor supports up to three projects simultaneously, providing approximately 1 hour of guidance per project each week.
You will work directly with Project Managers and will not be responsible for managing Business Consultants or participating in the day-to-day delivery of projects.
Strategic Advisors operate independently within the consulting programme, serving as experienced mentors and trusted sounding boards.
While client meeting attendance is entirely optional, you are welcome to participate if you wish to gain
additional insight into project progress and client discussions.
What We Offer
• A long-term advisory opportunity with a minimum 6-month commitment.
• The opportunity to mentor and develop future consulting leaders.
• High-level strategic involvement across multiple consulting projects.
• Meaningful contribution to project quality and organisational development.
• Collaboration with an international network of experienced consulting professionals.
• Flexible, fully remote engagement designed to fit professional commitments.
• The opportunity to remain connected to consulting while making a lasting impact on emerging talent.

• Help ensure projects maintain high standards of quality, structure, and professionalism.
• Share consulting best practices and leadership experience with Project Managers.
• Encourage critical thinking and continuous professional development.
• Build trusted mentoring relationships with assigned Project Managers.
• Optionally attend client meetings to gain additional project context and provide strategic input when appropriate.
What We're Looking For
• Minimum 3 years of professional experience, preferably within the consulting industry.
• Previous experience with a leading consulting firm or comparable strategic consulting experience is highly desirable.
• Currently working full-time in a professional role.
• Strong strategic thinking, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication, coaching, and mentoring skills.
• Passion for developing future consulting professionals.
• Available to commit approximately 3 hours per week for a minimum of six months.
Nice to Have
• Experience leading consulting engagements or managing consulting teams.
• Experience mentoring, coaching, or developing professionals.
• Experience working with senior stakeholders or executive clients.
• Expertise in strategy, organisational development, operations, transformation, or related consulting disciplines. Please note: this is a voluntary, unpaid advisory position designed for experienced professionals who are passionate about
mentoring, sharing their expertise, and contributing to the growth of an ambitious consulting community.
