Role Description This full-time, on-site Senior Network Engineer role is based in Canada and is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the company’s network infrastructure. The Senior Network Engineer will oversee network performance, configure routers, switches, and firewalls, and ensure secure connectivity for internal systems and external services. Daily responsibilities include monitoring network health, troubleshooting issues, optimizing configurations, and collaborating with IT and security teams to support business-critical applications. The role also involves planning for scalability, documenting network architecture and procedures, and leading network-related projects and improvements.
Qualifications
Strong skills in Network Engineering and Network Design to architect and implement scalable, resilient infrastructures.
Hands-on expertise in Network Administration and Troubleshooting to manage, monitor, and resolve issues across complex environments.
Practical experience with Network Security to safeguard data, systems, and communications, including firewall and VPN configuration.
Proficiency with enterprise networking technologies (e.g., TCP/IP, VLANs, routing protocols, switching, Wi-Fi) and common tools for monitoring and diagnostics.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Relevant certifications such as CCNP, CCNA, or similar professional credentials are highly beneficial.
Ability to document network configurations, follow change management processes, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Experience in high-availability, performance-sensitive environments, preferably in fintech, investment, or other technology-driven sectors.
