Software Tester

You will own testing for our live products, making sure every release works before it reaches customers. The work is a mix of manual testing, writing automated tests in Python with pytest, and checking our APIs.
You will work closely with our developers: reproducing reported issues, writing clear bug reports, and confirming fixes. Our stack is a Python (FastAPI) backend with PostgreSQL and a React + TypeScript frontend, so you will test across all three layers.
Responsibilities
• Write and run test cases for new features and bug fixes, covering normal use, invalid input and edge cases.
• Write and maintain automated tests in Python using pytest.
• Test REST APIs for correct responses, validation, permissions and error handling.
• Run regression testing before each release so existing features keep working.
• Report bugs clearly, with steps to reproduce, expected and actual results, and severity.
• Verify fixes and close bugs once they are confirmed resolved.
• Help keep our automated test suite and CI pipeline green.
• Suggest improvements to make our products easier to test and more reliable.
Requirements
• 1–3 years of hands-on software testing experience in a job or internship, covering manual and automated testing.
• Working knowledge of Python.
• Experience writing tests with pytest.
• Exposure to React and TypeScript, enough to test a modern web frontend.
• API testing with Postman or a similar tool.
• Solid grasp of testing basics: test case design, regression testing, and the bug life cycle.
• Familiarity with Git and a bug tracker such as JIRA.
• Clear written English for bug reports and remote communication.
• A reliable internet connection and the discipline to work independently from home.
Nice to have
• UI test automation with Playwright, Selenium or Cypress.
• Frontend testing with vitest or Jest.
• Experience with FastAPI or Django.
• SQL and PostgreSQL, to check that data is saved correctly.
• Understanding of CI/CD pipelines such as GitHub Actions.
• Experience testing HR, payroll, finance or other business software.
