Cloud Architect

Role Description The Cloud Architect at BG SERVICES CONSULTING will design, implement, and optimize cloud-based solutions that align with client business and technical requirements. In this part-time remote role, the Cloud Architect will collaborate with stakeholders to understand current systems, define target architectures, and create roadmaps for cloud adoption and migration. Day-to-day responsibilities include assessing infrastructure and application landscapes, developing solution designs, guiding integration between cloud and on-premises systems, and documenting architecture patterns and standards. The Cloud Architect will also provide technical leadership to development teams, participate in code and design reviews, ensure security and compliance best practices, and support performance tuning and cost optimization across cloud environments.
Qualifications
Strong architecture skills, including experience with Architecture and Solution Architecture for cloud-based and hybrid environments.
Hands-on knowledge of Infrastructure design and management, including networks, storage, compute, and security in public cloud platforms.
Experience with Software Development practices, frameworks, and tooling to collaborate effectively with engineering teams.
Proficiency in Integration concepts and technologies for connecting cloud services, APIs, and legacy systems.
Experience with at least one major cloud provider (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and common cloud services (compute, storage, databases, containers, serverless).
Ability to create clear technical documentation, diagrams, and architecture artifacts for diverse audiences.
Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to balance scalability, reliability, security, and cost efficiency.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working with cross-functional and distributed teams in a remote setting.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent practical experience.
Relevant certifications in cloud platforms or architecture (e.g., AWS Solutions Architect, Azure Architect) are beneficial.
