About the Opportunity:
The PLATFORM ENGINEER, WINDOWS role is responsible for leading native development to enhance software management on Windows systems. This position focuses on designing and building core technologies that power the Windows platform, ensuring a secure, scalable, and integrated user experience. The role has significant technical influence and collaborates closely with product, engineering, and security teams to shape the platform's future.
Responsibilities:
Build and maintain native Windows applications and platform services
Develop secure software distribution, installation, and update mechanisms
Work with Windows APIs, system services, device management technologies, and OS internals
Design scalable systems for managing hundreds of thousands of devices
Investigate and resolve complex platform, performance, and reliability issues
Shape security architecture across endpoints, applications, infrastructure, and software supply chains
Collaborate with product and engineering teams on technical and architectural decisions
Contribute to backend systems and APIs developed in Go
Participate in engineering standards, code reviews, testing, and operational excellence
Utilize AI tools to improve development speed without compromising quality or security
Requirements:
8+ years of professional software engineering experience
Deep expertise in native Windows applications and services using C#/.NET
Strong systems engineering background with platform-level software experience
Expert-level Go programming skills and experience with production services
Solid understanding of operating systems, networking, distributed systems, and application security
Experience designing and maintaining secure software delivery pipelines
Skilled in debugging complex issues across applications, infrastructure, and OS
Knowledge of authentication, authorization, endpoint security, and software supply chain security
Excellent written communication and ability to work asynchronously
Strong technical judgment balancing pragmatism and maintainability
Active use of AI-assisted development tools with security-sensitive verification
Pay Range and Compensation Package:
Salary range: $50,000 to $200,000 USD (paid in local currency)
