Position details
One opening, approximately six months, contract. No promised extension.
Fully remote
Candidates must work compatible Central/Eastern business hours.
Internal maximum client bill rate: $78/hr on w2
What we must establish
The two essential technical requirements are hands-on Drupal coding and practical Acquia Cloud experience.
Before sending a profile, establish what the candidate personally developed in Drupal and what they actually did within Acquia Cloud. Drupal content editing, administration alone, or general cloud experience will not establish fit.
Prioritize recent Drupal 10 or 11 development, especially Drupal 11. Someone whose Drupal experience is older needs a clear explanation of how current and relevant that experience remains.
STRONG- Preferences
Drupal 11 experience is strongly preferred.
Previous Drupal upgrades or migrations are helpful, but Steve explicitly prioritized Drupal and Acquia Cloud experience over migration history.
Deeper PHP experience is a plus. He expects actual Drupal coding ability, not a separate arbitrary PHP-years requirement.
Certifications are not required.
Steve believes the environment is Acquia Cloud Classic, but needs to confirm. Do not make Classic-specific experience a requirement.
Explain the maintenance expectations
Occasional evening or overnight maintenance is part of the role. Steve estimated fewer than about five occasions over six months, although that is not guaranteed.
The original window was midnight–5 a.m. He clarified that work could start around 9 p.m. and finish around 2–3 a.m., depending on the change. Some weekend work is possible, but may be avoidable. The exact maintenance time zone still needs confirmation.
He said overtime is not expected. Hours would be adjusted within the week, and he is comfortable with an agreed later start the following morning.
The client interview is expected to be a 30-minute Zoom
