About The Role
We are seeking a talented Data Engineer to join Bet365's AI & Automation department. In this role, you will be instrumental in maintaining and advancing the company's critical data infrastructure. Your primary focus will be on transitioning existing SQL Server environments to a modern Google Cloud Platform (GCP) ecosystem, ensuring data integrity, scalability, and compliance with regulatory standards. This position offers a unique opportunity to work on complex data projects, contribute to automation initiatives, and develop expertise in cloud-based data solutions within a collaborative, fast-paced environment. Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in data engineering and related technologies, including proficiency in SQL Server and cloud platforms. Relevant qualifications include a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Practical experience with GCP, BigQuery, and Looker is highly desirable. Candidates should demonstrate excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams. Familiarity with version control systems such as Gitlab and a proactive approach to leveraging AI tools for development are advantageous.
Responsibilities
Lead the end-to-end delivery of regulatory data projects, from gathering requirements to deployment and monitoring.
Design, develop, and maintain robust T-SQL stored procedures and SSRS reports to support core business operations.
Shadow senior colleagues to gain hands-on experience with GCP environments, progressing towards independent cloud development.
Utilize AI-powered tools proactively to accelerate development cycles and streamline coding tasks.
Investigate and resolve complex data issues, ensuring high data integrity and minimal disruption to critical processes.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide regular project updates and manage timelines effectively.
Contribute to the development of standards and best practices to ensure consistency across all data solutions.
