The Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Laboratory Scientist to oversee laboratory testing, sample analysis, quality control procedures, and technical reporting. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, laboratory management experience, and the ability to ensure accurate, reliable, and compliant test results in support of construction materials, environmental monitoring, or related laboratory operations.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee daily laboratory activities, testing procedures, sample preparation, and analytical processes.
Conduct and supervise laboratory tests in accordance with approved methods and project specifications.
Analyze and interpret test results, identify irregularities, and recommend corrective actions.
Ensure the accuracy, reliability, and traceability of laboratory data and reports.
Maintain laboratory equipment, calibration schedules, testing instruments, and maintenance records.
Implement quality assurance and quality control procedures across laboratory operations.
Ensure compliance with relevant UAE regulations, applicable testing standards, and laboratory safety requirements.
Maintain proper sample identification, handling, storage, preservation, and disposal procedures.
Review test results and technical reports before submission to project teams, clients, or management.
Coordinate with engineers, quality control teams, consultants, contractors, and external laboratories.
Investigate testing discrepancies, nonconformities, and equipment-related issues.
Maintain laboratory documentation, standard operating procedures, and controlled records.
Train and guide laboratory technicians and junior scientists on testing methods and safety practices.
Monitor laboratory supplies, consumables, inventory, and procurement requirements.
Support internal audits, external assessments, proficiency testing, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor's or master's degree in Chemistry, Biology, Materials Science, Laboratory Science, or a related discipline.
At least 5–8 years of relevant laboratory testing and analytical experience.
Experience in construction materials, environmental testing, or industrial laboratories is an advantage.
Strong knowledge of laboratory procedures, analytical techniques, quality control, and technical reporting.
Familiarity with ISO/IEC 17025 laboratory requirements and relevant testing standards.
Excellent analytical, organizational, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Certifications
ISO/IEC 17025 laboratory quality management training.
Relevant laboratory safety and quality assurance certifications.
Professional certification related to the applicable scientific or testing discipline.

Timeliness of testing and technical report submission.
