Role Overview
This is a senior role delivering complex operational projects and giving strategic oversight of a broader project portfolio. We’re looking for someone with substantial experience from a business process outsourcing (BPO) environment, or highly relevant transferable skills from another fast-paced, customer-focused operation.
You’ll work closely with stakeholders at every level, turning complex project and portfolio information into clear, concise reporting and recommendations for C-suite audiences. You’ll shape and drive the strategy of our project team, strengthen its capability and show the value it delivers to the wider business. You’ll also guide our Project Managers through the full employee lifecycle, empowering them to take ownership, develop professionally and consistently deliver to high standards.
Key Responsibilities
Establish and lead high-performing project teams, clarify accountabilities, develop robust delivery plans and secure the resources needed for success
Monitor portfolio performance and provide accurate, timely reporting on delivery, costs, milestones, resources, dependencies and benefits
Make sure all projects comply with our internal governance and external quality, regulatory and compliance requirements
Proactively identify and remove delivery barriers, keeping projects on schedule, within budget and aligned with agreed outcomes
Lead multiple complex, interdependent projects, balancing priorities and managing cross-project risks and dependencies
Provide authoritative direction and sound decision-making, while coaching, mentoring and developing Project Managers and wider project teams
Develop and embed effective project policies, processes and standards that support our strategic and operational priorities
Provide senior portfolio governance and assurance across all projects, maintaining delivery standards and producing clear reporting for internal, external and C-suite stakeholders
Build trusted client and stakeholder relationships, creating alignment and enabling the successful delivery and adoption of change
Apply PRINCE2 principles consistently across planning, governance, controls, reporting and delivery assurance
Own robust risk, issue and dependency management, with timely escalation, effective mitigation and transparent reporting
What We’re Looking For
At least five years’ experience at senior project management level, with a strong record of operational project delivery and portfolio governance
Current PRINCE2 Practitioner accreditation (essential), with the ability to apply the methodology proportionately and effectively
Substantial experience in a BPO environment or a closely related operational setting
Demonstrable experience managing BPO TUPE projects and the associated operational change
Proven experience delivering complex operational and business change projects, not solely IT delivery
Proven team management experience, including coaching, performance management and supporting colleagues through the full employee lifecycle
Excellent written, verbal and reporting skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly to senior and C-suite stakeholders
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and a solution-focused approach, bringing practical options and recommendations rather than problems alone
A collaborative, dependable team player who builds strong relationships and contributes positively across functions
