About the Role
A partner startup is looking for a detail-oriented and tech-savvy Product Specialist to help develop, test, and improve our AI-powered SaaS product.
You will work closely with product, engineering, QA, and customer-facing teams to ensure our AI features work as intended, user workflows are intuitive, and product improvements address real customer needs.
This role combines product operations, functional testing, AI output evaluation, and user support. You will help translate business requirements into clear product specifications, validate AI-powered workflows, investigate issues, and coordinate improvements from development through release.
The ideal candidate is curious about AI technology, comfortable working with software products, and skilled at identifying problems, documenting findings, and turning feedback into actionable improvements. You do not need to be an AI researcher, but you should be willing to learn how AI systems behave and how to evaluate their performance.
Key Responsibilities1. Product Testing and Validation
Test new features, product updates, integrations, and end-to-end user workflows before release.
Develop test scenarios, acceptance criteria, and checklists to validate product functionality.
Identify, reproduce, document, and track bugs and unexpected system behavior.
Perform regression testing to ensure updates do not break existing functionality.
Validate product behavior across different user roles, account configurations, and usage scenarios.
Coordinate with engineers to investigate issues and verify fixes.
2. AI Output Evaluation
Evaluate AI-generated outputs for accuracy, relevance, consistency, completeness, and adherence to user instructions.
Test prompts, inputs, and workflows to identify edge cases and failure patterns.
Assess how AI features perform across different scenarios, including ambiguous instructions, incomplete inputs, and unusual user requests.
Identify hallucinations, formatting errors, inconsistent responses, and other AI-specific failure modes.
Maintain structured evaluation datasets, test cases, and examples of expected versus actual outputs.
3. Product Requirements and Documentation
Translate business requirements and user feedback into clear product specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
Document product features, workflows, system behavior, and known limitations.
Maintain product documentation, FAQs, internal knowledge bases, and troubleshooting guides.
Support product backlog management and track feature requests, bugs, and improvement initiatives.
Prepare release notes and communicate product changes to internal teams.
Ensure documentation reflects the actual behavior and capabilities of the product.
4. User Experience and Customer Feedback
Investigate product-related questions, reported issues, and recurring customer pain points.
Help users understand product features, AI capabilities, limitations, and recommended workflows.
Gather feedback from users and internal stakeholders to identify opportunities for improvement.
Analyze recurring support issues and distinguish between usability problems, product defects, and expected AI limitations.
Support customer onboarding, product demonstrations, and feature adoption initiatives as needed.
Translate customer feedback into actionable recommendations for the product team.
5. Product Performance and Continuous Improvement
Monitor product usage, feature adoption, reported issues, and user feedback.
Help analyze usage patterns and identify features or workflows that need improvement.
Track recurring AI failure modes and report trends to the product and engineering teams.
Support experiments and evaluations to determine whether product changes improve performance.
Prepare concise reports summarizing product quality, user feedback, and recommended next steps.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
1–3 years of experience in product operations, software QA, business analysis, technical support, or a related role.
Experience testing software applications and documenting bugs, requirements, or workflows.
Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent written communication skills and the ability to explain technical issues clearly.
Familiarity with SaaS products, web applications, and software development lifecycles.
Comfortable learning AI tools and evaluating AI-generated content against defined criteria.
Ability to work with technical and non-technical teams in a fast-paced environment.
Familiarity with tools such as Jira, Linear, Notion, Confluence, or equivalent platforms.
