## About the Role
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented **Junior Cybersecurity Email Security Analyst** to help protect organizational email systems against phishing, spoofing, malicious attachments, and other email-based threats.
You will support the monitoring of email security alerts, investigate suspicious messages, review authentication controls, and help improve email protection policies. This role is ideal for an aspiring cybersecurity professional who wants to develop practical skills in threat analysis, Microsoft 365 security, and incident response.
## Key Responsibilities
* Monitor email security alerts and investigate suspicious messages reported by users or automated systems.
* Assist with identifying phishing attempts, malicious attachments, suspicious links, and impersonation attacks.
* Review email security configurations and help identify potential weaknesses.
* Support the implementation and review of SPF, DKIM, and DMARC email authentication controls.
* Help analyze email headers and message delivery details during investigations.
* Assist with maintaining blocklists, allowlists, and email filtering policies in accordance with approved procedures.
* Document phishing investigations, findings, and recommended corrective actions.
* Support awareness initiatives that help employees recognize suspicious emails.
* Collaborate with IT and security operations teams to contain and report email-based threats.
* Help track email security incidents and identify recurring attack patterns.
* Assist with reviewing email protection dashboards and preparing periodic reports.
## Requirements
* Diploma or bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field; equivalent practical knowledge may be considered.
* Basic understanding of phishing, malware, social engineering, and common email threats.
* Familiarity with networking fundamentals, DNS, and email delivery concepts.
* Basic knowledge of Microsoft 365 or other business email platforms.
* Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
* Good written communication and incident documentation skills.
* Ability to handle sensitive information responsibly.
* Willingness to learn new security tools and work collaboratively in a remote environment.
## Preferred Skills
* Familiarity with Microsoft Defender for Office 365 or similar email security solutions.
* Basic understanding of SPF, DKIM, and DMARC.
* Experience reviewing email headers or analyzing suspicious URLs in safe environments.
* Awareness of security incident handling and phishing response procedures.
* Familiarity with SIEM tools or security alert management.
* Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Security+, Microsoft security credentials, or equivalent training are an advantage.
* Practical cybersecurity labs, internships, or email threat analysis projects are welcome.
