Electrical Design Engineer

Role Description The Electrical Design Engineer will be responsible for designing and developing electrical systems and components for EPCC projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and client specifications. Day-to-day tasks include preparing electrical design documents and drawings, performing load calculations, specifying equipment, and coordinating power distribution layouts for petroleum, oil and gas, offshore–onshore, and marine applications. The role involves collaborating with multidisciplinary engineering teams, attending project meetings, supporting procurement with technical inputs, and providing guidance during installation, testing, and commissioning. The engineer will also participate in design reviews, resolve technical issues on-site, and contribute to continuous improvement of design processes and standards. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Chennai.
Qualifications
Strong foundation in Electrical Engineering and Electricity principles, with the ability to apply them to industrial EPCC projects.
Proficiency in Electrical Design and Design Engineering, including preparation of drawings, calculations, and technical documentation.
Experience with Power Distribution systems design, including load flow, cable sizing, protection coordination, and equipment specification.
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
Familiarity with relevant international and local electrical standards, codes, and HSE requirements.
Competence with CAD and electrical design software and basic project documentation tools.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting abilities, with attention to detail.
Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate on-site with cross-functional stakeholders.
Prior experience in petroleum, oil and gas, offshore–onshore, or marine projects is an advantage.
