About the role

Description supplied by the original job listing.

This is a remote contract role for a Unity Programmer. In this role, you will implement gameplay systems, tools, and features in Unity, collaborating closely with designers, artists, and other developers to bring interactive experiences to life. You will write clean, maintainable C# code, integrate assets and game logic, and optimize performance across platforms. Day-to-day tasks include debugging and profiling, working with version control, contributing to technical design discussions, and iterating on prototypes based on playtesting feedback. You may also support experimental and nontraditional projects that leverage Unity beyond games, such as interactive installations or AR experiences.
Qualifications
Strong foundation in Computer Science and Software Development principles, including algorithms, data structures, and software architecture.
Proficiency in Programming and Object-Oriented Programming (OOP), with professional experience in C# and Unity development.
Experience with Back-End Web Development concepts (APIs, services, data persistence) and integrating online features or tools into Unity projects.
Familiarity with game development workflows, including version control (e.g., Git), asset pipelines, and debugging/profiling tools.
Ability to work independently in a remote environment, manage time effectively, and communicate clearly with a distributed team.
Experience shipping or contributing to at least one Unity-based project, with a portfolio or code samples available for review.
Comfort with experimentation and rapid prototyping, especially for innovative or cross-disciplinary projects.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
