About The Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Application Developer to join MANTECH’s dynamic team in Chantilly, VA. This full-time position is ideal for professionals who are passionate about software development and eager to contribute to impactful projects. The Application Developer will be responsible for supporting and enhancing existing applications, as well as developing new software solutions to meet evolving client requirements. The role involves working closely with cross-functional teams, including project managers, system analysts, and other developers, to deliver high-quality software products in a timely manner. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills, a proactive attitude, and a commitment to continuous improvement in development practices.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate should possess the following qualifications:
A high school diploma or GED with at least 7 years of experience in the Information Technology field.
Proven expertise in Java programming with hands-on development experience.
Proficiency in web technologies including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and experience with at least one modern front-end framework, preferably Angular.
Knowledge of or experience with the Spring Framework, RESTful services, SQL databases, and ORM libraries such as Hibernate/JPA.
Experience with Git version control, including branching and merging within a team environment.
Preferred qualifications include strong multitasking abilities, effective communication skills with multiple stakeholders, and familiarity with Elasticsearch and secure web application development best practices. Candidates with an active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph are highly desirable.
Responsibilities
The Application Developer will be responsible for a variety of technical and collaborative tasks, including:
Designing, programming, developing, and modifying software systems, applications, and tools, both existing and future projects.
Analyzing user needs and software requirements to assess the feasibility of design within project constraints regarding time and cost.
Collaborating with team members, service providers, vendors, and end-users to develop new features and improve existing functionalities.
Developing comprehensive unit and integration tests, participating in functional and regression testing to ensure software quality and correctness.
Identifying and correcting errors, making necessary adjustments, and re-verifying the results to meet desired outcomes.
Reviewing help desk messages and working with other teams to troubleshoot and resolve production issues efficiently.
Participating in code reviews, providing constructive feedback, and incorporating best practices to maintain high coding standards.
Deploying code to various environments—development, testing, and production—using existing DevOps tools and infrastructure.
