About The Role
IDS is seeking an ambitious, analytical self-starter to provide data analytics and business intelligence support to government customers. Working with senior leadership, you will extract, cleanse, analyze, and visualize data, then communicate findings through clear, useful stories and dashboards. You will help customers turn complex information into insights that support informed decisions and effective program and financial management.
The successful candidate is collaborative, resourceful, and comfortable working under pressure. This role requires sound judgment, diplomacy, strong time-management skills, and the ability to communicate effectively in writing and in person. Priorities may shift, so adaptability and attention to detail are essential.
Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in business management, engineering, computer science, mathematics, accounting, economics, or a related discipline is required. Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree for candidates with at least nine years of applicable experience.
Applicants must have at least five years of experience in government acquisition, finance or financial management, program management, or a related field within a Department of War organization. A minimum of five years of hands-on experience developing, maintaining, and troubleshooting Qlik Sense applications is also required. Experience with Power BI or Tableau is preferred, as is familiarity with CCaR, PMRT, Department of War or Department of the Air Force organizations, Advana, or the War Data Platform.
Selected applicants must complete a 45–60-minute Qlik assessment evaluating data modeling, user interface skills, instruction-following, and attention to detail. Responsibilities
Gather business requirements, analyze source systems, identify data sources and transformation needs, design data models, and develop metadata for analysis and visualization. Acquire and assess enterprise data and metrics to determine how they can support dashboards and other visualizations. Collaborate with business areas and project teams to elicit, prioritize, and document business intelligence and visualization requirements.
Serve as a functional and technical subject matter expert in data visualization and business intelligence. Translate business needs into report and dashboard concepts, prototypes, and deliverable solutions using applicable BI tools. Contribute to design and visualization best practices, document data acquisition, management, and governance processes, and identify and implement process improvements. Develop training materials and user guides, lead group and individual training sessions, and provide additional support to a government financial office.
Some travel may be required. Work hours generally fall Monday through Friday and may vary; additional hours or weekends may be necessary to meet deadlines or travel commitments. The role involves extended computer work and communication, occasional movement around an office, and the ability to lift or carry at least 15 pounds.
Benefits
The estimated annual salary range is $100,000–$140,000. Actual compensation may vary based on geographic location, relevant experience, training, skills, education, clearance, certifications, contract requirements, and business needs. The posted range is a good-faith estimate and may change; it does not include applicable geographic differentials.

Benefits generally begin on the first day of the month after employment starts, or immediately when the start date is the first of the month.
