About The Role
Russells Technical Products Inc. is seeking a Field Service Engineer to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair refrigeration, electronic, and electromechanical systems at customer sites. This is a road-based position that requires weekly local and regional travel, with hotel stays approximately four nights per week. Before beginning field assignments, you will complete a two-to-four-week training program at the company’s facility in Holland, Michigan.
This role is suited to a service professional who can work independently, communicate clearly with customers, and apply refrigeration knowledge to diagnose and resolve equipment issues. The position pays $35.00 to $45.00 per hour. Travel time is paid at 100% of your hourly wage.

Candidates should also have at least two years of work experience or training in commercial or industrial refrigeration or HVAC/R, experience with electronics and controls programming, and experience in a related service role. A valid driver’s license is required.
Experience or training with cascade refrigeration systems is preferred, as are an EPA Universal Certificate and experience in the environmental simulation systems industry. Responsibilities
Install and start up products at customer facilities, perform preventive maintenance, and conduct inspections and performance tests. Verify that equipment meets manufacturing prints, application engineering specifications, purchase requirements, and other applicable criteria. Document installed product performance and service activities.
Troubleshoot, repair, and calibrate refrigeration systems, electronics, controls, and electromechanical components using technical prints and schematics. Restore products to fully operational condition and train users in proper equipment operation and maintenance.
Build and maintain positive customer relationships by coordinating service calls, discussing equipment needs, explaining the benefits of refrigeration and controller retrofits, supporting preventive maintenance contracts, and performing general service work. Maintain current knowledge of RTP warranty, maintenance, and service policies and procedures. Keep vehicle logs, follow maintenance schedules, and submit detailed field service and travel expense reports.
Benefits
RTP provides a work vehicle and covers 100% of travel costs. Employees receive a weekly per diem of $350 for personal expenses; receipts are not required. Travel time is paid at the employee’s full hourly wage. The hourly pay range is $35.00 to $45.00.
