Principal Software Engineer, React Native

Role Description The Principal Software Engineer, React Native will lead the design and implementation of Otto AI’s mobile experience, owning core architectural decisions and high-impact features. This is a full-time remote role focused on building robust, scalable React Native applications that integrate tightly with Otto’s backend services and AI systems. Day-to-day responsibilities include writing high-quality code, conducting code reviews, improving performance and reliability, and collaborating with product, design, and backend teams to deliver cohesive user experiences. The person in this role will define best practices, mentor other engineers, drive technical roadmaps, and proactively address technical debt and security concerns. They will also contribute to system design discussions, advocate for modern engineering standards, and help shape the long-term technical vision of the Agent OS platform.
Qualifications
Strong foundation in Computer Science, including data structures, algorithms, and system design.
Extensive experience in Software Development and Programming, with a focus on building production-grade mobile and web applications.
Proficiency in Back-End Web Development and integration of front-end clients with APIs and cloud services.
Advanced skills in Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) and modern architecture patterns (e.g., MVVM, clean architecture).
Expertise in React Native, JavaScript/TypeScript, and mobile performance optimization.
Experience leading complex technical projects, mentoring engineers, and setting engineering standards.
Familiarity with AI-driven products, event-driven systems, or real-time applications is a plus.
Comfort with remote collaboration, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work across disciplines.
Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
