Transportation Coordinator

About the Role
The organization is seeking a Transportation Coordinator for a full-time position based in the United States. In this role, you will support critical logistics operations, executing network-wide freight movement, tracking in-transit deliveries, managing dedicated carrier performance, and maintaining real-time transportation management data.
Key Responsibilities
Book and schedule shipments across the network, coordinating pickup and delivery windows directly with carriers and receiving sites.
Track shipments in transit through the transportation management system, monitoring estimated arrival times against committed delivery windows and identifying at-risk deliveries proactively.
Investigate missed SLAs with carriers to identify root causes and drive each issue to resolution.
Manage day-to-day relationships with dedicated carriers, addressing rates, capacity requirements, service disruptions, and operational escalations.
Maintain up-to-date shipment and carrier performance records in the transportation management system to deliver continuous visibility into SLA compliance.
Qualifications
Experience directly booking and managing shipments end-to-end, from carrier booking through delivery confirmation, across a network of multiple sites or destinations.
Demonstrated ability to proactively track in-transit shipments, anticipate delays, and communicate schedule updates before receiving facilities request them.
Experience managing direct carrier relationships, coordinating with account representatives and operations personnel to resolve logistical issues independently.
Demonstrated track record of conducting root-cause analysis on missed SLAs and driving corrective operational changes.
Proficiency in using a transportation management system (TMS) to handle booking, tracking, exception management, and reporting.
Proven ability to maintain accurate, high-integrity shipment records in a high-volume logistics environment.
