Role Description This is a full-time remote role for Spanish-English Medical Interpreters, providing services via Over-the-Phone Interpreting (OPI) and Video Remote Interpreting (VRI). Day-to-day responsibilities include accurately interpreting medical conversations between healthcare professionals and patients, ensuring clear, impartial, and confidential communication. Interpreters will handle scheduled and on-demand calls and video sessions, follow established protocols, and adhere to industry standards and privacy regulations. The role involves working with a variety of healthcare settings, using company-provided platforms and tools, and participating in periodic training to maintain high levels of linguistic and medical accuracy. Interpreters are expected to demonstrate professionalism, cultural sensitivity, and strong time management while working independently in a remote environment.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong Medical Interpretation and Interpreting skills, specifically in Spanish-English clinical and hospital settings.
Candidates should possess solid knowledge of Medical Terminology relevant to a wide range of specialties and healthcare procedures.
Candidates should possess Translation skills for medical documents and Simultaneous Interpretation skills for fast-paced interactions when required.
Candidates should have excellent spoken and written proficiency in both Spanish and English, with clear articulation and active listening abilities.
Candidates should have prior experience in medical or community interpreting, familiarity with confidentiality and HIPAA or similar privacy standards, and the ability to work effectively in a remote, technology-driven environment.
Relevant interpreter training or certification, such as medical interpreting courses or recognized credentials, and reliable high-speed internet and a suitable remote workspace are highly beneficial.
