Senior Fullstack Developer (PHP/Laravel + React)

ABOUT THE PROJECT
Wiregate builds digital products for international clients. We’re looking for a Senior Fullstack Developer to join a long-term project for an established international client.
You’ll work on several web products in marketing and lead generation. Behind the interfaces is complex business logic, including analytics, lead processing, conversion tracking, and third-party integrations.
The codebase has evolved over time, so you’ll work with both established solutions and legacy code. The goal is to keep products stable while improving them step by step.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
• Develop backend features in PHP/Laravel and frontend features in React (approximately 70% backend / 30% frontend).
• Understand business logic, clarify requirements, and assess the impact of technical changes.
• Maintain and improve the existing codebase and architecture without disrupting live products.
• Design REST APIs and integrate third-party services.
• Build reusable, white-label solutions for launching new websites and marketing campaigns.
• Improve admin tools, performance, caching, queues, and background jobs.
• Participate in code reviews, testing, and production troubleshooting.
• Break down and estimate tasks, flag risks, and take features from initial discussion through to production.
Priorities can change from day to day, so being comfortable switching between tasks is important.
TECH STACK
PHP, Laravel, React, PostgreSQL and/or MySQL, Redis, queues, background jobs, Git, Docker, Linux, and CI/CD.
Some older parts of the codebase also use jQuery.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
• Strong commercial experience with PHP/Laravel and hands-on experience with React.
• Experience working with established products, complex business logic, and legacy code.
• Practical experience with REST APIs and third-party integrations.
• Experience with PostgreSQL and/or MySQL, query optimization, Redis, caching, queues, and background jobs.
• Confident use of Git, Docker, and Linux, with an understanding of CI/CD.
• Familiarity with testing, code reviews, monitoring, logging, and production troubleshooting.
• Ability to estimate tasks, identify risks, make sound technical decisions, and take ownership of results.
• English at B2 level or above for daily communication with the client and technical discussions.
• Fluent Russian for day-to-day communication with the team.
NICE TO HAVE
• TypeScript and Next.js.
• AWS or Kubernetes.
• Experience with high-load or distributed systems.
• Experience mentoring developers, modernizing legacy systems, or introducing engineering metrics.
• Thoughtful use of AI tools in development and testing.
Experience as a Tech Lead or Lead Developer is a plus. We’re also open to strong Senior Developers who want to take on more technical responsibility and grow towards a Tech Lead role.
HOW WE WORK
• Team communication: Discord for daily planning and quick discussions. Team members are expected to be available in a voice channel during the working day.
• Working hours: Monday-Friday, 10:00–19:00 (GMT+3).
