About the role
Description supplied by the original job listing.
A new chapter for a legendary local — and your chance to lead it.
Dicey’s Pub is coming to Cleveland.
Cleveland Tavern is undergoing a major transformation, bringing back the spirit of the much-loved Dicey Reilly’s and relaunching as Dicey’s Pub — a warm, character-filled Irish-inspired local built around great food, great people and proper pub hospitality.
Think hearty Irish favourites, pub classics, perfectly poured Guinness, live music, big games on the screens and a beer garden made for long afternoons.
Now we need the Venue Manager to bring it all to life.
You’ll take ownership through the transformation and reopening, build your team, shape the culture and put your stamp on Dicey’s from day one.
What you’ll be taking on
The renovation will transform the venue from the inside out, including a refreshed Sports Bar & Terrace, Bistro & Beer Garden and Gaming Room, alongside significant improvements to the external areas and overall guest experience.
The vision for Dicey’s is simple: a proper local with personality.
A place for Friday knock-offs, family dinners, live music, big sporting moments and catching up over a pint. Somewhere locals know the team, the team knows the locals, and everyone feels welcome.
As Venue Manager, you’ll be at the centre of making that happen.
What’s in it for you?
OTE up to $164,000, comprising base salary, super and KPI bonus
Recruit, build and develop your own leadership and venue team
Genuine autonomy to shape the venue’s culture and guest experience
Strong support from an experienced Operations and Head Office team
Career development and progression across Australian Venue Co.’s national portfolio
About you
We’re looking for an experienced Venue Manager who understands that running a great pub is about much more than numbers.
You’ll know your P&L, labour and stock — but you’ll also know your regulars, be visible during a packed Friday night and understand how to build a team people want to be part of.
You’ll bring:
Strong experience as a Venue Manager or in a senior hospitality leadership role
Proven experience managing a large, food and beverage-focused venue
Strong commercial capability across P&L, labour, rostering, stock control and revenue
A hands-on leadership style and strong presence on the floor during peak trade
Experience recruiting, coaching and developing high-performing teams
Strong understanding of local markets, competitors and hospitality trends
The ability to identify and execute initiatives that drive revenue and repeat trade
Confidence delivering events, promotions and entertainment
Strong stakeholder management and the ability to work closely with Operations and Head Office teams
Experience managing compliance within a busy licensed venue
RMLV, Approved Manager Licence, Gaming Nominee and CLO requirements apply.
