About the role and team
As the Strategy & Planning Lead for the APAC Delivery Central team, you will lead a team of 6 across Governance & Planning, Strategic Initiatives & Growth Bets, and Market Intelligence—establishing the standards, tools, and operating rhythm for the APAC region and individual Country S&P teams.
In this player-coach role, you will manage a high-performing team while personally driving the region's highest-priority strategic bets.
What you’ll do
Team leadership: Lead and develop a high-performing six-person team.
Governance and planning: Establish and lead end-to-end APAC delivery governance processes, as well as half-year and full-year planning cycles.
Market intelligence: Own and manage data-to-insights generation for competition and market intelligence across APAC delivery.
Strategic initiatives and POVs: Incubate, assess, and recommend top-of-mind strategic initiatives as they emerge.
Growth bets: Build initial cross-APAC prioritisation, including sizing and go-to-market planning.
Geo strategy and capital allocation: Help drive APAC-wide geographic prioritisation principles and frameworks, while monitoring and building insights for markets to capitalise on opportunities. Work closely with the Head of S&P and RGM on the regional capital allocation framework.
Headcount governance: Manage and run an efficient headcount process.
Central to country partnership: Define and continuously refine the roles and responsibilities split between central S&P and country S&P across all workstreams, ensuring central standards do not create duplicate work at the country level.
Stakeholder management: Serve as a senior strategic partner to APAC delivery leadership, synthesising inputs from operations, product, finance, and country GMs into clear recommendations.
Basic Qualifications
10+ years experience in strategy, operations, or consultancy, with a proven track record of leading large-scale, high-impact initiatives.
Leadership: Experience leading, mentoring, and developing high-performing teams.
Advanced problem-solving skills: Demonstrated ability to tackle complex issues and develop practical, scalable solutions in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.
Exceptional communication: Outstanding communication and storytelling abilities to convey complex ideas clearly and compellingly.
Stakeholder influence: Proven ability to build and manage relationships with senior leaders, influencing and driving decisions at the highest levels of the organisation.
Business and financial acumen: High degree of business and financial acumen, with a strong analytical skill set to solve problems using data.
Industry knowledge: Genuine interest and deep understanding of the online food delivery industry and Uber’s business strategy.
Project management expertise: Strong attention to detail and a structured approach to managing complex projects, ensuring successful completion and impactful outcomes.
Collaboration skills: Exceptional relationship-building skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse and cross-functional business leaders.
Preferred Qualifications
Strong data analytics skills.
MBA or advanced degree in a relevant field
Experience in online food delivery or adjacent industries such as logistics, Q-commerce, or application software.
