Responsibilities
Design, configure, provision, and maintain cloud-managed MySQL database systems for availability, scalability, and performance.
Build and maintain database automation pipelines, infrastructure-as-code solutions, CI/CD workflows, and supporting scripts.
Support schema design, stored procedures, scheduled jobs, query optimization, and other database components for development teams.
Manage monitoring, alerting, backups, failover, maintenance, upgrades, migrations, and production incident response, including on-call support.
Own multi-week or multi-month infrastructure projects and collaborate with engineering teams on database standards and operational execution.
Requirements
4+ years of database administration experience with cloud-deployed and large-scale relational MySQL databases, including administration, troubleshooting, and recovery.
Experience across the database development lifecycle, including schema design, query optimization, and collaboration with development teams.
Experience designing and implementing automated data migrations using replication, code, and business logic.
Proficiency in Python or Bash scripting, automation, monitoring, and alerting tools; experience with infrastructure-as-code and CI/CD practices.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience; AWS RDS/Aurora, Docker, Kubernetes, Linux, Go, Python, or Java experience is preferred.
